Hi everyone, welcome to doodlinc.’s blog.
You might wonder,”who is this doodlinc. and what they do?”.
Well we intend to answer those questions with this post.
We are a group of youngsters, based in Jakarta, Indonesia.
We are passionate in helping people and businesses achieve their goals with the help of an explainer video.
According to Forbes, the average online attention span of your audience is falling.
In 2015, TIME magazine summed up the problem in an article aptly titled, “You Now Have a Shorter Attention Span Than a Goldfish.”
This is affirmed by Aberdeen’s latest report, which found that “marketers who are using video are seeing (on average) 49% faster growth in revenue.”
Because explainer video is simple and easy to follow. And one more thing, they are eye-catching!
Whether it’s a whiteboard animation, cut-out animation, 2D or Graphic animation, they each have their own upside with almost no downside!
Let’s talk about each of these animation style, and see which one suits you best.
1. Whiteboard Animation
Like its name, whiteboard animation usually drawn by hand (animated hand or live)
on top of a white background (but not limited to only white background).
We as the audience, can see how a drawing was made. We can see the progress, and it makes us wonder “what will they draw next?”.
THAT is audience engagement.
Audience basically are curious and wait till the end of the video.
Either they got hooked by the drawing progress or the information it sends. Or both!
Whiteboard animation are the most affordable type of explainer video, but don’t get me wrong, the power it has is equally strong compared to the others.
The simplicity and honesty of whiteboard animation make even the most complex idea can be delivered in a fun and engaging way.
You can ask doodlinc. about our whiteboard animation!
2. Cut-out animation
Cut-out animation is like a brother to whiteboard animation. They features the same kind of drawings and style.
What sets them apart is how they appear in the video. As you’ve read above, whiteboard animation appears by drawn,
while cut-out animation appears by pushed in.
For a more complicated concept, cut-out animation can be the solution. People will have more time to see the drawings,
instead of seeing it being made.
Don’t worry about engaging your audiences, cut-out animation is equally fun, like its brother!
3. Graphic Animation
Graphic animation—like its name—is an animation that features graphics (as in visual objects) combined with texts.
It suits for a technical concept where you need the graphics and texts to explain the idea.
Graphic animation usually used for a how-to video, a serious type of business, or just for someone who wanted a simple and clean look.
The kind of script that it suits are direct selling script. You also can use it to introduce your product after a sales has been closed, to let your new client know how things work after the purchase.
4. 2D Cartoon Animation
2D animation is almost like graphic animation. The only thing is, we use a cartoon character in the video.
Why do you need a character for your video you might ask.
The answer is simple, so your audience can relate to the character’s experience or situation he/she is facing.
With this kind of video, the script will be a story-based script.
Where we usually show a problem → followed by character’s hopelessness → a solution you can provide → character’s condition after they applied your solution.
Your audience with a similar problem will instantly relate and consider you as their solution.
Any explainer videos that are made with perfect planning, scripting, drawings, voice-over and animation will be a perfect medium to reach your audience.
No matter what kind of video you choose, doodlinc.’s goal is to help you achieve your target —whether to get sales, leads, educate or just to get brand awareness—we are ready to get you there.
